At ParPer Drum, we understand sound as a living experience. It's not just about notes or tunings, but about how the instrument vibrates, how it responds to touch, and what feeling it leaves in the player.
A good instrument doesn't just make a sound: it's felt. In the hands, in the chest, in the silence that follows.
Each instrument is designed to offer a deep, stable, and enveloping sound, with a long sustain and a vibration that is felt in the body, not just in the ears. We seek a sound that accompanies, that doesn't tire, and that invites you to play it again and again. A companion, not a source of frustration.
🔔 Precise and Lasting Tuning
Tuning is the heart of the instrument. That's why we work on each note carefully, listening to how it relates to the others, until we achieve a coherent, balanced, and stable sound over time.
We don't tune to impress on the first try, but so that the instrument retains its sound quality over the years, even with continued use. We've even noticed that the more you play it, the better it sounds.
An honest sound is a sound that lasts.
🌿 Harmonic and Intuitive Scales
We work with any scale, but we also develop scales that flow naturally. Scales that allow you to play from the very first moment, without fear of making mistakes, and that at the same time offer depth for those who want to explore further. And a very beautiful sound and melodies, even if you've never played them before.
Each scale has a purpose, an intention, and a specific feeling. They aren't designed to show off, but to accompany the player, whatever their level or prior experience. And here, we have several recommendations, depending on how you want to use it.
🎶 The Body of Sound
(scale, frequency, and how an instrument feels)
At ParPer Drum, we don't work with just one type of sound. Each instrument is designed from the outset with its intended purpose and user in mind.
That's why scale and frequency aren't just technical details, but part of the experience. Choosing one or the other changes how the instrument responds, how it vibrates, and what feeling it conveys when played.
🎼 Scale and Frequency: True Personalization
We adapt the scale and frequency according to what you're looking for: calm, exploration, therapeutic accompaniment, personal enjoyment, or musical expression.
We listen, provide guidance when necessary, and suggest options to ensure the instrument resonates with you.
🔧 Different Levels of Tuning and Harmonic Work
Over time, we have developed different versions of our instruments, with varying levels of tuning and harmonic development.
From simpler, more stable, and accessible configurations (like V1 in Cosmos or Arcturus)—perfect for beginners—to more complete versions with greater harmonic development, more body, and a richer sound response. (like V3 in both models and V4 in Arcturus)
The more harmonics and the more fine-tuning, the rounder, deeper, and more expressive the instrument becomes.

🧘 Sound designed for feeling
Many of our instruments are also designed to accompany processes of calm, personal exploration, and music therapy. Not from an esoteric or forced perspective, but from a coherent, stable, and easily integrated sound.
The instrument adapts to the person, not the other way around.
🔬 Evolving sound research
At ParPer Drum, part of our work involves researching how sound responds in different bodies, scales, tunings, and configurations. We do this through direct listening, accumulated experience, and also by observing the advances taking place in fields such as neuromusic, sound therapy, and music therapy.
The study of sound and its effect on people is evolving, and we evolve with it.
We test different materials, sizes, reed configurations, frequencies, and tuning techniques. We observe how the sustain, vibration, touch response, and the physical and emotional sensation produced by each instrument change.
Furthermore, we gather real-world information and feedback for our own scientific research from musicians, therapists, and people who use our instruments in very different contexts: music creation, therapeutic support in healthcare and holistic therapy centers, personal exploration, or simply for the enjoyment of sound. This information is an active part of the process.
This research is not a closed result or a fixed formula. It is a living, constantly evolving path that directly influences the development of our current instruments and those yet to come.
Thanks to this continuous and dedicated work, we have been able to create different versions, with varying levels of tuning and harmonic development, so that each person can find an instrument that truly fits their way of playing, feeling, and using sound.
